Karmakanic released the album "Who's the Boss in the Factory?" On October 27, 2008 and is seen as one of the absolute highlights of their prodution.
One of the most beautiful rock songs written is Eternally Part I & II, written by Jonas Reingold in memory of his parents who died in a car accident the year before. A song as with a very sensitive accordion solo by Lelo Nika:
-          I wanted a solo musician who could play with the right feeling and Lelo Nika is a brilliant musician. Lalle Larsson, one of my favorite keyboard players, makes an equally delicate effort on Eternally I, says Jonas Reingold.
This is a song to enjoy and reflect around when Christmas is approaching. Thanks to Raul Rafael who produced this nice pictures to the song.

Listen to what Jonas Reingold has to say about the new cd with The Sea Within. Jonas is part of the new progressive band led by Roine Stolt. They have released their first record with the same name - The Sea Within. Here comes a part from the review in Prog Report:

Just consider this line-up: with Stolt are legendary skin-beater Marco Minneman (also singing and playing guitar), the one and only Jonas Reingold on bass, Renaissance’s Tom Brislin on keyboards/vocals and Pain of Salvation’s Daniel Gildenlöw on lead vocal and guitar. Flying Colors’ vocalist Casey McPherson appears on three songs and will be touring with the band. Add to this already intimidating list the names of guest artists Jon Anderson (yes, him), Jordan Rudess (yes, also him) and Steve Hackett’s woodwind player Rob Townsend, and you have a list of names that will draw collective, and very expectant, breath in Prog world. Talk about an “all-aboard” line-up. Wow – (or should I say ‘Ahoy’.)

Jonas Reingold is on tour with Steve Hackett. See video comment from a fantastic gig in Barcelona with a set of old Genesis songs.

I had the opportunity to meet Jonas before the concert and ask about the tour with Hackett. Jonas will play with Steve Hackett this season and unfortunately missed the  premiere show with Sea Within at Loreley in Germany this weekend.

Hello Everybody!!!
Life is moving towards summer here in Europe and after a really harsh winter it is more than welcome to see a few sunbeams caress the beaten up winter landscape. Yours truly has been busy touring the world with Steve Hackett. I simply skipped the winter and got a fantastic experience instead. Thanks to all of you who showed up at the shows.
The Sea Within CD is ready for pre-order and we´re very happy to present this to the prog community. Great talent combined with hopefully good songs. CD version or Vinyl, your choice.
To be released 2018-06-22

I also have the new The Flower Kings Boxset "A kingdom of colours 2" 2004-2013 9 Cd´s.
To be released 2018-06-01.

We still selling a lot of the new Tangekanic album. Me and Andy Tillison joined forces last year and we did a combined Karmakanic and The Tangent tour 2017, this is the result.

Tangekanic has made a highly appreciated concert in Gothenburg. Tangekanic, a combination of Karmakanic and The Tangent, played two sets of mixed songs.
"I usually say that you get two bands for the price of one and a half bands," says Jonas Reingold.

- One of my personal fave gigs in the Tangents lifetime - I felt all the musicians were just on fire that night - including first time participant Sven on guitar who totally nailed everything he was asked to nail. Great gig - great times, great people. Wish we could do this all the time, says Andy Tillison.

As part of the audience there was an amazing concert with highlights like Dot_God the Universe ... and Where the Earth meets the sky. See the taste sample from the latter in the video below.

Tangekanic, the collaboration between The Tangent and Karmakanic, have released a live video of the track Steer By The Stars.
The song was originally recorded by Karmakanic, with the performance filmed at the New Jersey Proghouse in October last year.
The video has been released to mark the announcement that Tangekanic will play Musikens Hus in Gothenburg, Sweden, on May 26 and Kometen in Hvidovre, Denmark, on June 2.

Lalle Larsson is one of the most talented keyboard player in Sweden. He will join Karmakanic and Tangent on their Scandinavian tour in the end of May.
It will be great to see you on stage! You have played on the last four albums, but you did not participated in Wheel of Life or Entering the Spectra?

That's right. Jonas called me first in 2005 when he wanted to play his Karmakanic material live. He needed a keyboardist for the band's first Europe tour. It was so we got to know each other. Karmakanic was initially more of a studio project as I understand it. A few years later, we recorded Who's The Boss In The Factory and it was the start of a thirteen year long collaboration.

How do you think Karmakanic has evolved during the studio albums you participated in?

The latest should be the best and I think that is the case with Karmakanic´s album Dot. Everything from production, composition to games has matured over the years I think. The latest album Dot also has an incredibly good line up.

You've also been touring with The Tangent - have you been involved on their albums as well?

No, but we did a short Europe tour together, a double bill with Karmakanic and Tangent 2014. It will be fun to meet the guys again in May and it's not often I'm playing in Sweden so it's going to be fun.

What can we expect from Karmakanic and The Tangent on tour?

I suppose we play the best song material from each band's catalog and there is usually a little space for improvisation as well.
The audience is guaranteed a nice evening with very positive energy from the stage.

Your latest solo disc - Until Never - released in 2014, have you been playing it live?

No, we never played it live. I think Until Never became a very nice intimate recording, but I actually did not mind playing the material for the audience. It is possible that I will insert any of the songs from the album in a future live set.
My new album will be released later this year and the idea is to try to play it live if I can get musicians and charts etc, it's more improvised music so it's great for a live situation.

What and who have been your musical influences in recent years?

I'm probably influenced by all the music I hear about me, I think.
It's as instructive for me to hear music that I'm not accustomed to hearing music that appeals to me because then I know what to avoid or amplify in my own music.

You would probably be surprised at how quiet it is in our house, I rarely listen to music to be completely honest. When I work in my studio or sit and practice then I get my prone part of sound.

If I want extra inspiration, I'll go back listening to contemporary classical music, such as Henri Dutilleux violin concert with Isaak Stern or anything with John Coltrane, Eric Dolphy, Allan Holdsworth or Michael Brecker. If I'm on tour, it will be a lot of youtube, especially interviews and documentaries can be inspiring.

Since the last album “The Dot”, released in 2016, Karmakanic has only had a single gig in Scandinavia. Now Karmakanic and The Tangent will continue their cooperation with a spring tour in Sweden.
"We thought it was exciting to tour with The Tangent. Two bands at the same price as one! At this tour we will amplify the band with Lalle Larsson on keyboard and Sven Cirnski on guitar. Karmakanic fans recognise Lalle from our records and Sven has played with Karmakanic earlier years. We have not finalised the set list yet, but you can be sure to hear the whole "Dot_God the Universe and Everything Else No One Really Cares About - Pt I & II," says Jonas Reingold.

The tour will take place between 24 May and 2 June with gigs in Gothenburg, Lidköping, Stockholm and a finish on June 2 in Copenhagen. Keep an eye on this website to get the dates.

During spring 2018, Karmakanics Jonas Reingold will tour with Steve Hackett.

The tour will start in North America and South America in February. They will also tour in Japan before the spring season ends at the Be Prog My Friend festival in Barcelona.

"It's going to be fun to play with Steve and his band, all of which are world-class musicians! I have grown up with Genesis and they are the forerunner to many of the bands playing progressive rock today. So there will be a number of immortal rock songs that I get the privilege to play in 2018, "says Jonas Reingold.

success in veruno, italy

There are many wonderful prog festivals to attend around the world and each is wonderful in its own way but 2DP+1 surely stands out as one of the best you could attend, as a concert-goer or performer. The surroundings are magnificent, the organization is peerless. Bodo Kubatzki took these lovely shots and said:
- It was a great concert in Veruno with Tangekanic! I really like Jonas Reingolds and Andy Tillison with band. They are great musicians and created a really good atmosphere at site.

We can now present two new dates to our tour in Europe:

Karmakanic and Tangent on tour

In August will Karmakanic and the Tangent team up for some European tour dates, hitting the road with a six-piece line-up that will perform the music of both bands. Common to both bands is Jonas Reingold whose career with The Flower Kings has been a major contribution to the progressive genre. Karmakanic have released 6 studio albums which Jonas has both composed and produced.
The Tangent led by keyboards player and singer Andy Tillison since 2003 have had a nine album career to date – and have no intention of stopping any time soon.

This year the two groups will tour together for the second time – featuring one stellar six piece line up that will play the music of both bands. This time the lineup will of course feature Andy & Jonas leading their respective bands – and the other musicians will be Luke Machin (Guitar), Marie Eve De Gaultier (Keyboards, Vocals), James Stewart (drums) and Goran Edman (Vocals). The music will be personal choices of the best that both bands have to offer from across the years.
